WHAT WE’RE TALKING ABOUT WHEN WE SAY OUR COATINGS ARE NON-TOXIC, ECOFRIENDLY, AND PERMANENT.
PTFE and PFOA are chemicals commonly used in manufacturing traditional non-stick cookware. These types of fluoropolymers have the potential to be a health concern because they can stay present in the environment and the human body for a long period of time.
Several studies in recent years investigated the causality between PTFE/PFOA and cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, “some of these studies have suggested an increase in testicular cancer…[and] possible links to kidney cancer and thyroid cancer…” (cancer.org). Recently, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a component of the World Health Organization (WHO), classified PFOA as a “possibly carcinogenic to humans” based on evidence found in studies on cancer rates and exposure to fluoropolymers.
While non-stick cookware is not a significant source of PTFE or PFOA exposure, LloydPans Kitchenware does not use these potentially harmful chemicals in the manufacturing process. Our proprietary, non-toxic coatings are water-based and do not contain PTFE, PFOA, fluoropolymers, or any other toxic chemicals. Even more, these coatings are permanently bonded to all our cookware, and will NOT chip, bake, or flake off into your food through time and with use.
Put simply, we believe in putting consumer health before corporate profits. LloydPans Kitchenware is cookware you can trust—safe for you, safe for your family, safe for the environment.
